Valerie Rogers is a watercolor and acrylic artist. She paints in-depth visual studies of nature and it’s creatures in their own quiet places. She focuses on the natural beauty around her and translates it to paint and paper.
She is the recipient of the BC Wildlife Federation Artist of the Year Award. Her painting will be the BCWF 2008 print.
Her paintings have received awards in BC Art shows; Armstrong Award show, Sorrento Art Show Juror Choice Award (s), the Grebe Festival People’s Choice Award, and the People’s Choice Award at the Salmon Arm RMEF banquet. She has also received the Shuswap Arts Award and the Marie Manson Award.
She exhibits regularly in the Okanagan and Shuswap and is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Creative Soul Painters and a director of the Shuswap District Arts Council. Her paintings are in collections in Canada and the United States.
